'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Ethan Galbraith resumes battle with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he recalls the dramatic closing stages of his team's remarkable turnaround win against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The game wrapped up with Galbraith picking up a supporter's spectacles following the on-field celebration.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a speculative shot from outside the box, and Cameron Burgess immediately converted the deflection before racing off toward the crowd to celebrate, with fans swarming the players.

Stunning Reversal

This sealed an unbelievable turnaround given the team had been behind 2-0 midway through the latter period. Amid the delirium, there was some collateral damage. He shared, "There was a fan shouting out and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're humans, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

That win booked a fourth-round game at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, a club Galbraith came close against at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. He had an excellent perspective when Orient took the lead in stunning style, with a teammate's first-time shot from about long distance going in via the woodwork and the opposition keeper. Many argued that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've given it to him for having a go from that range," commented Galbraith, who played in the middle before shifting to right wing-back after Orient changed tactics. That meant competing with Jack Grealish, with whom he traded tops, and the winger was among the opposition who complimented the way the underdogs played positively.

City's Quality

"Fitness-wise they are exceptional but even the simple things and routine actions, they can just perform consistently," the midfielder notes. "It seems as if they never miss a pass and they are adept at dictate and take the sting out of a game. You can feel you're holding your own and then suddenly they will just deliver a through ball through a line without you even spotting it. You have to be focused at all times of the game. It requires a strong mentality and attention just to remain competitive."

Swansea Move

The club were keen on Galbraith in January and beat off competition to secure him in the summer in a seven-figure transfer. He established himself as a crowd pleaser across a couple of years at his former club and has swiftly achieved similar status in Wales. At the London club he linked up again with Richie Wellens, who earlier gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in first-team action on loan at Doncaster from Manchester United. Then came a loan at fourth-tier the Manchester club, before he permanently left Old Trafford.

Development Path

"I was probably a slightly green going into senior level. I think a lot of players would say youth team games is very different. Sometimes it seems the ball is moved without much intensity. You see few physical contests. Once you start playing men's games you have to learn quickly."

Country Call-ups

He has demonstrated that development for both domestically and internationally, excelling for the Green and White Army, who are fighting to qualify for the World Cup next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has featured in the past five games, including two matches encounters against Germany. The ex-coach, Galbraith's ex- international manager, gave him the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he controls possession and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Early Days

This marks quite the ride for the player from the local area in Glengormley, just outside Belfast, who grew up watching his father, Stuart, also a engine room operator, play for a local club.

Red Devils Debut

The player's sole appearance for United came in Central Asia in 2019, a European competition trip to Astana, where they played on an plastic turf and the stadium roof was shut owing to conditions of freezing cold. "It was a extended travel and it was freezing," he says, chuckling. "The week before, myself and quite a few of the young lads worked out jointly, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to join the main group and make an appearance at the end was incredible."

Leaving United

What was the challenge was it to depart Manchester United, the club he joined from Linfield aged 16? "It was fairly simple, because I reached the point where I realized I wouldn't break through at the senior squad. I'm very appreciative for the experience gained but it reached a stage where I believed I required a fresh start, drop down the leagues and play first-team games. Now I'm slowly progressing again."

Welsh Adaptation

This occurs during the middle of the day at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has somewhere to be at late afternoon: a learner's exam, another move in the direction of getting on the road. Until recently to his new neighborhood, the mid-twenties player was a constant rider in Swansea's nicknamed fun bus, a small coach driven by academy staff, the transport team, which shuttles players to and from practice and games.

"I travel with the Portuguese player, another squad member, an Ivorian player – Melker Widell used to be in it but has got his license. It's enjoyable to spend time with the guys but I'm aiming to be the subsequent individual to drive independently and behind the wheel. His teammate is known for his humor; he's constantly causing mischief."

Supporter Connections

While playing for Leyton Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside fans on the Tube after starting his journey at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
